When things heat up in your environment you have to be able to switch on the internal cooler; the inner air-conditioning unit which is your breath. You have watched the automatic air-conditioning units switch on whenever a particular temperature is surpassed and so it is the same for you.
When the inner heat of emotion is rising then switch to the conscious breath and allow the bellows of your breath to accelerate the transmutation and surrender of the particular emotion that you are dealing with. You do not need to know the story behind this emotion. There is no need for analysis because that is like talking about what you are going to put in the stove to make the fire, rather than simply increasing the oxygen content to your stove so that it can fire the flames upon the wood and sticks that you already have there.
To talk endlessly about your problems is like a dog following its own tail. You are circling in the same motion and direction only to return dizzy. There is a certain amount of frenzied pleasure in doing this but you will never catch the tail and you will end up exhausted.
To move into the eye of your particular storm turn to the conscious breath, it will take you there immediately. What`s more it will take you to a place of no-thought so that the emotional whirlwind surrounding you will subside into the vacuum of peace that you are, and as a result, the problems that your intellectual mind has wanted to delineate will become less dominant. As they lose their dominance the stillness and purity of your heart and soul will resonate louder than all other noise.
In short, when your emotional world transgresses and steps up in front of your presence with a roar, retreat to that place of peace and beauty within through your breath and as you become conscious of your breath, this place of peace and beauty will expand to encompass your emotions and even the emotions of those around you, soothing them, transmuting them, alchemizing them and ultimately liberating all.
